Student-Centered Instruction & Learning
•    Design and implement a rigorous, career-focused program of study that engages students, meets individual needs, and aligns with current technology industry standards.
•    Create an interactive, hands-on learning environment that fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
•    Prepare differentiated lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles and backgrounds to ensure equity in student success.
High-Performance Teaching & Continuous Improvement
•    Establish clear instructional objectives that guide students toward career readiness and workforce success.
•    Integrate emerging technologies and industry-aligned best practices into daily instruction.
•    Assess student performance regularly using data-driven insights and provide targeted support to drive mastery.
•    Engage in real-time coaching, professional learning communities (PLCs), and continuous instructional feedback to enhance student outcomes.
Classroom & Student Engagement
•    Set and maintain high expectations for student behavior, engagement, and achievement.
•    Develop a culture of innovation where students actively apply technology skills to real-world challenges and industry projects.
•    Guide students in career exploration, digital literacy, and employability skills to prepare them for college and career pathways.

Collaboration & Communication
•    Build strong relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and industry partners to support student learning and career development.
•    Work with campus and district leaders to enhance CTE program offerings, internships, and certification opportunities.
•    Participate in school and district initiatives, ensuring alignment with HISD’s high-performance culture and instructional goals.
Compliance & Student Safety
•    Maintain accurate student records, including grades, certifications, and program documentation, in compliance with state and district policies.
•    Implement classroom safety procedures to ensure a secure and productive learning environment.
•    Monitor and maintain technology equipment, materials, and instructional resources to maximize student engagement and program effectiveness.

•    Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in technology education and workforce trends.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS


 

Education

•    Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
•    Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment.

•    Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
•    Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus; judge distance (close and distant); reach with arms extended and use hands to manipulate the keyboard.
•    Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and/or be mobile.

•    Ability to travel throughout the district and city by means of private or public transportation. If driving personal (or private) vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage.
