POSITION SUMMARY
Provide high-quality virtual instruction in English I aligned to Texas TEKS and STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) standards within the HISD Virtual Launchpad program. Design and deliver rigorous, standards-based synchronous and asynchronous instruction that builds foundational reading comprehension, analytical writing, literary analysis, and critical thinking skills. Monitor student engagement and academic progress, provide timely and targeted interventions, and collaborate with program leadership to ensure instructional fidelity, compliance with district and TEA requirements, and measurable academic growth in a structured virtual learning environment.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES
1. Deliver rigorous English I instruction aligned to TEKS and STAAR EOC standards in a blended virtual format.
2. Plan and implement engaging synchronous lessons and structured asynchronous learning modules.
3. Design, modify, and adapt curriculum for virtual delivery while maintaining academic rigor.
4. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, including multilingual learners and students receiving accommodations.
5. Prepare students for successful completion of the English I STAAR EOC exam.
6. Monitor attendance, participation, assignment completion, and academic progress.
7. Maintain accurate gradebook records and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
8. Conduct weekly tutorials, office hours, and intervention sessions.
9. Collaborate with graduation coaches and counselors to support credit attainment.

10. Support students in developing time management and independent learning skills in a virtual setting.
11. Analyze assessment data to adjust instruction and intervention strategies.
12. Ensure compliance with ADA requirements and district policies.
13. Participate in grading cycles, progress monitoring meetings, and instructional reviews.
14. Maintain required documentation aligned with district and TEA guidelines.
15. Participate in virtual PLC meetings and data discussions.
16. Collaborate with the leadership and instructional staff.
17. Other duties as assigned.
