JOB SUMMARY
Provides skilled assistance in the strategic sourcing, of goods, uniforms, equipment, or services for the Nutrition Services Department. Demonstrates technical procurement knowledge of a broad spectrum of commodities and services. Works as an integral member in the management of strategic sourcing events and supplier relationships. Provides strategic and innovative contributions to the sourcing process and business operations of Nutrition Services. Maintain accurate records, databases and/or documentation for reviews/audits.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Proactively identifies sourcing and contract value opportunities and examines existing contractual relationships within the district to identify best practices.
2. Demonstrates proficiency in procurement guidelines and ensures current and continued compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
3. Monitors supply markets, conducts market intelligence, and utilizes information obtained to develop sourcing event elements, comprehensive reports, and presentations.
4 Maintain open lines of communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies
5 Conducts cycle counts/inventory of items on a routine basis
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
6 Process invoices from vendors and Nutrition Services departments
7 Receive, inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase order
8 Sourcing material and gathering quotes from approved vendors for items that are needed within other departments in Nutrition Services (Warehouse, Maintenance, Operations, Professional Development, Catering, Marketing, FFVP and Food Literacy)
9 Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
WORK EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in contracting, supply chain management, and/or materials management. Comprehensive understanding of strategic sourcing processes and elements.

Microsoft Office

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.
BUDGET AUTHORITY
No budget development activity is required.

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude, but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

Decisions have minor, small and possibly incremental impact on the department or facility. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a single department or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.

Collaborate and solve problems – works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.

Takes routine or required customer actions to meet customer needs. Responds promptly and accurately to customer complaints, inquiries and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up. May handle escalated issues passed on from coworkers or subordinates.
WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
Ability to carry and/or lift up to 15 to 44 pounds.
