JOB SUMMARY
Maintains automotive parts inventory for district buses and vehicles. Determines proper part application, and assists Transportation’s mechanics with problem resolution.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives and stores automotive parts for use in district buses and vehicles. Transfers automotive parts to satellite facilities, as needed. Issues parts to mechanics and processes transactions to maintain accurate parts inventory.

- Provides technical assistance to mechanics for identification of non-inventory parts that require ordering. Coordinates and processes emergency parts requests.
- Monitors inventory for re-stocking points. Requests stock numbers. Conducts annual physical inventories.

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED

6 months to 1 year

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.

Work and tasks are often straightforward, routine, structured and guided by established policies and procedures. Little, if any, independent judgment is required, outside of making basic choices in the selection and application of established methods. The job receives frequent, ongoing supervision.

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noise, chemicals, etc.
Ability to carry and/or lift 45 pounds or more.
