JOB SUMMARY
Manages accounting and reporting for local, state, and federal grants – including submission of expenditure reports to grantor/agencies, ACFR reporting, Single audit activities, annual external/grantor audit requests. Also, responsible for monitoring expenditures for compliance with grantor requirements/Uniform Guidance.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Accounting for local, state, and federal grants. Ensures accounting transactions are incompliance with GAAP. Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations.
2. Reviews and submits expenditure reports to grantor/agencies. Monitors expenditures for compliance with grantor requirements/Uniform Guidance.
3. Responsible for annual Single Audit activities and reporting, annual external audit activities, and ACFR reporting.

4. Responds to grantor/agency requests including TEA’s indirect cost calculation request.
5. Responsible for managing staff, including goal setting, appraisals, training, and KPIs.
6. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree.
Director 1 Accounting positions require professional development on new accounting standards, software enhancements, related TEA finance training as well as TASBO, ASBO and GFOA trainings.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages. Accomplishes the majority of work objectives through the management of direct reports. Provides day-to-day direction to staff; may become directly involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems. Responsible for assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring application of policies and procedures. Receives assignments in the form of objectives, with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides input to hiring, performance and budget.

Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the division. Supervision received typically consists of providing periodic coaching, advice and feedback.
