JOB SUMMARY

This Coordinator 1-Unit Advanced Academics Support supports a portfolio of campuses with executing on district Advanced Academics and CCMR strategy. The role works closely with a team of Coordinator 1s and their assigned division support. Relevant activities include implementing program compliance systems, delivering district-wide trainings, supporting AP/IB/dual credit teachers, supporting scheduling testing, particularly for TSI/SAT/ACT/AP/IB.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.        Drive CCMR outcomes by monitoring dual credit enrollment across a subset of schools
2.        Maintain and validate data trackers weekly, analyze trends, and support campus action planning to close gaps; Provide consistent, data-driven updates on progress, trends, and risks to inform next steps and escalation
3.        Facilitate PLCs and district PD sessions focused on dual credit, including instructional best practices and connection to CCMR outcomes
4.        Support dual credit curriculum implementation by ensuring alignment to TEKS, dual credit expectations, and advanced academics look fors
5.        Partner with campus leaders and teachers to strengthen scheduling, implementation, and student outcomes
6.        Partner closely with community college partners to drive strategy for dual credit success

Previous experience as a teacher, particularly in HS, preferr

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Level 2 -Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

-Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.

BUDGET AUTHORITY

-No budget development activity is required. 

PROBLEM SOLVING

-Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS

-Decisions have minor, small and possibly incremental impact on the department or facility. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a single department or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS

-Collaborate and solve problems - work with others to resolve problems, clarify, or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

-Leads others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer's decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems. Monitors customer service standards.

-Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
