JOB SUMMARY
Coordinator 2 is an integral part of a diverse and dynamic team composed of individuals from different functional areas within the district. The primary role is including but not limited to collaborating with team members, contributing expertise, and working towards achieving common goals. Under general direction, the Coordinator 2 will participate in projects, leveraging knowledge and skills to streamline processes, execute special projects that have significant operational impact, and deliver successful outcomes for Child Nutrition Programs.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintaining Child Nutrition ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, reconciling and ensure Child Nutrition funds are utilized and expenditures are properly classified.
2. Prepares worksheets, financial statements, and various expenditure reports for management, external auditors, and funds agencies.
3. Analyzes trends and cash flows of funds and compiles monthly and year-to-date profit and loss reports.
4. Ensures Child Nutrition programs are in compliance with USDA, TEA, and TDA.
5. Manage and coordinate resources within the team to ensure the timely completion of projects and achievement of desired outcomes.
6. Executes special projects of high priority to the department and the district.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
7. Collects and consolidates budget, procurement, policy, performance, personnel, and other information.
8. Engages customers, and end users, including gather personal feedback on the impact of activities and needs.
9. Act as a liaison between department and management. Providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and opportunities
10. Leverage project management tools and methodologies to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement within the team.
11. Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the projects and functional areas within the team.
12. Collaborate with team members to plan and organize meetings, workshops, and events, including scheduling, logistics, and materials preparation.
13. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Master’s Degree Preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
1 to 3 years progressive in accounting

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work and tasks are often straightforward, routine, structured and guided by established policies and procedures. Little, if any, independent judgment is required, outside of making basic choices in the selection and application of established methods. The job receives frequent, ongoing supervision.

Decisions are made on routine matters affecting few individuals and usually within the confines of the job's own department. Specific job activities and results are typically reviewed closely. There are limited requirements for developing new ideas or changes in methods, procedures, or services.
IMPACT OF DECISIONS
Follow rules and procedures. Decisions can have minimal or no impact to HISD. Errors can be readily detected, usually by the employee, and, if made, would result in minor expense for correction.
COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS
Basic communication - very little communication required such as receiving basic instructions. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor, and co-workers in own department.
Information sharing - gives and receives information such as options, technical direction, instructions, and reporting results. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor, and coworkers in own and other departments.

Follows through with customer inquiries, requests, and complaints. Forwards difficult and non-routine inquiries or requests to appropriate level for resolution.
WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
