JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator 2 School Choice Applications provides leadership for the district’s school choice application system. Manages the operations of all transfers handled by the Office of School Choice. Responsible for facilitating business process, function and organization design, working collaboratively with school choice operations process owners and subject matter experts. The role focuses primarily on business requirements, workflow and leveraging technology to enable or alter business processes or practices. Provide strategic consultation to all stakeholders, helps in defining or designing business processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies based on requirements. Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Coordinates all activities of the senior leadership team and the (department), including planning, coordinating, facilitating, and managing follow-ups related to the school choice application.
2.     Day-to-day responsibilities will be focused on cleaning and reorganizing data for analysis, and/or analyzing  data sets to spot trends and patterns that can be translated into actionable insights 
3.     Regularly engages parents, schools and end users, to gather feedback on the impact of activities and     needs.
4.    Executes special projects of high priority to the department and the district.
5.    Develops group and public-facing presentations incorporating information from various departments and the Salesforce application system to support training of all stakeholders.
6.    Works with the CTM and salesforce to troubleshoot, add enhancements to ensure a seamless, equitable and easy to use experience for parents and schools with the application tool.

7.    Develops and manages a unified calendar of weekly, monthly, and annual activities.
8.    Supports project management and progress monitoring activities, implementing district and procedures for project management and progress monitoring.
9.    Collaborate with team members to plan and organize meetings, workshops, and events, including scheduling, logistics, and materials preparation.
10.    Maintain and update departmental records, databases, and filing systems, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
11.    Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 5 years working in the district/central office of a large urban school district

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Microsoft Office

K-12 domain knowledge is preferred, but not required.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

Compiles and organizes data and figures.

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

Collaborate and solve problems – works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.

Leads others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer's decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems.

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.

Ability to carry and/or lift less than 45 pounds.
