JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator 2 of Assessment and Data Quality is responsible for overseeing the Test Production Specialist 2 team, ensuring that test production tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with district standards. This role involves managing workflows, providing technical guidance, and liaising with the Curriculum department to ensure seamless test production. The Coordinator 2 ensures the team adheres to high standards of accuracy and timeliness, directly impacting the validity of tests for students.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Test Production Specialist 2 team.
- Oversee the entry and formatting of test content provided by the Curriculum department into the district's assessment platform.
- Ensure test content displays correctly for both paper and online testing.
- Manage the setup of test accommodations and ensure all test settings are configured accurately.
- Create and maintain workflow tracker to monitor and manage test production tasks.
- Facilitate regular communication between the Test Production team and the Curriculum department to clarify content requirements and receive feedback.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure high attention to detail and prevent mistakes in test production.
- Stay updated on new features and updates to the assessment platform and ensure the team is informed and trained on these changes.
- Suggest and implement improvements to test production processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay informed about changes in State assessment design and ensure these are incorporated into test production.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years working in the district/central office of a large urban school district

Skill and/or Required Licensing/Certification
SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
- Proven experience in a supervisory or administrative role with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in using office software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and communication tools.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Test Production Specialist 2 team, providing work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff. Responsible for the performance and development of the Test Production Specialist 2 team. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.
BUDGET AUTHORITY
Compiles and organizes data and figures.
PROBLEM SOLVING
Decisions are made with greater freedom and discretion, including recommendations that are subject to approval on matters that may affect multiple departments across HISD. Job is frequently expected to recommend new solutions to problems, to improve existing methods/procedures/services and generate new ideas. May also review decisions made by other individuals on more routine matters.
IMPACT OF DECISIONS
Decisions have a moderate impact on the department and campuses. Errors can affect the accuracy and validity of tests, leading to disruption of campus testing.

Information sharing – gives and receives information such as options, technical direction, instructions and reporting results. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor and co-workers in own and other departments.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
Follows through with customer inquiries, requests, and complaints. Forwards difficult and non-routine inquiries or requests to appropriate level for resolution.
WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
Ability to carry and/or lift less than 15 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive hand movements.
