JOB SUMMARY
The Cross-Functional Team Member (CTM) will play a key role in supporting the expansion and enhancement of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs of study at the district's Career Center and high school campuses. This position serves as a collaborative partner within the CTE Department, working closely with executive leadership, directors, campus personnel, and project teams to implement high-impact special projects. In addition to cross-functional support, the CTM will manage select projects and team functions, providing leadership to ensure timelines, resources, and deliverables are executed effectively. The CTM will provide operational and programmatic support to drive innovation, improve student access and outcomes, and ensure effective execution of project goals aligned with district CCMR priorities.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Implementation: Assist in planning and executing special CTE initiatives, including the development and rollout of new or expanded programs of study at the Career Center and other high schools. Lead designated project components, including setting timelines, managing resources, and ensuring deliverables are met.
2. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work cross-functionally with CTE program managers, campus administrators, curriculum specialists, and central office departments to ensure smooth coordination and alignment across all phases of project implementation.
3. Team & Project Management: Provide day-to-day oversight of assigned projects or initiatives. Lead small cross-functional workgroups, delegate responsibilities, monitor progress, and provide coaching and support to ensure team effectiveness and goal achievement.
4. Problem Solving: Contribute analytical skills to help troubleshoot project-related challenges and develop practical, student-centered solutions.

5. Program Support: Support site-based and departmental teams by providing guidance, documentation, and logistical support for CTE program expansion efforts.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline project workflows and administrative processes to improve efficiency and impact.
6. Goal Alignment: Assist in tracking milestones and deliverables to ensure projects remain aligned with district goals and CTE strategic priorities.
Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members and stakeholders. Provide updates, share best practices, and document project progress.
Team Culture: Contribute to a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, innovation, and accountability within the CTE Department.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in education, project management, business, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years of experience working on cross-functional teams or managing special projects, preferably in an educational or CTE setting. Experience in team or project management strongly preferred. Experience in CTE program coordination or career-readiness initiatives is highly desirable.

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and work with diverse teams and stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management tools. Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Project management certification or training is a plus.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing directions on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

Decisions are made with greater freedom and discretion, including recommendations that are subject to approval on matters that may affect multiple departments across HISD. Negotiate and influence - interpret department strategies and services, resolve conflicts, influences outcomes on matters of significance for the division, conduct final negotiations and coordinates approvals/decision making below the executive level. Interactions are typically with customers and Top Management.

Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems. Regularly explores alternative and creative solutions to meet the needs of the customer within H ISD's policies and guidelines.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
