JOB SUMMARY
The CTM of Academics Strategy & Analytics (ASA) supports the execution of data systems, reporting, and strategic initiatives across Academics departments. This role serves as a key partner to the Director 2, helping translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, managing cross-functional projects, and ensuring high-quality implementation of ASA work.
The CTM leads and coordinates projects related to data systems, governance, and reporting, working closely with departmental teams and IT to ensure alignment, consistency, and timely delivery. This role may supervise staff or provide project-based leadership depending on team structure and assignment.
In addition to project leadership, the CTM independently completes analysis, reporting, and data product development as needed. The role plays a critical part in maintaining consistent data practices across departments, reducing duplicative work, and supporting teams in effectively using data to inform decision-making.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Management & Execution: Plans, manages, and executes cross-functional projects related to data systems, reporting, and governance. Defines timelines, coordinates tasks, tracks progress, and ensures deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
2. Strategic Implementation Support: Translates direction from the Director 2 into clear workplans, deliverables, and processes. Supports the rollout and adoption of new systems, reporting structures, and governance practices across Academics.
3. Cross-Department Coordination: Works with multiple Academics departments to gather requirements, align on data definitions, and ensure consistency in reporting and data use.
4. Data Systems & Reporting Oversight: Supports the development and maintenance of shared data systems and reporting tools, ensuring outputs are aligned to standards and meet user needs.
5. Data Analysis & Deliverables: Conducts analyses, builds reports and dashboards, and completes data requests as needed to support departmental and cross-functional priorities.
6. Quality Assurance & Data Validation: Reviews data, reports, and outputs for accuracy and consistency. Identifies issues and works with appropriate teams to resolve discrepancies.

7. Leadership of Project Teams: Provides direction, guidance, and feedback to team members or project contributors. May supervise staff or lead project-based teams depending on assignment.
8. Partnership with IT: Coordinates with IT to communicate priorities, troubleshoot issues, support system improvements, and ensure clear alignment on scope and timelines.
9. Standardization & Governance: Applies and reinforces established data governance practices, naming conventions, and reporting standards to ensure consistency and reduce duplicative work.
10. Capacity Building & Support: Supports departments by providing guidance on data use, helping teams understand reports, and reinforcing best practices for locating, validating, and interpreting data.
11. Process Improvement: Identifies inefficiencies in workflows, reporting, or data access and recommends practical solutions to improve systems and processes.
12. Communication & Stakeholder Management: Communicates project updates, data insights, and challenges clearly to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
13. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred.

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
Familiarity with Microsoft suite including Fabric and PowerBi preferred
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

Compiles and organizes data and figures.

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

Decisions have considerable impact to multiple divisions or the organization causing risks or improvements to relationships, significant efficiencies, or delays in operations, and/or significant financial gains or expenses. Errors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive costs and/or significant project delays.
COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS
Collaborate and solve problems – works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
Leads others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer's decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems.
Monitors customer service standards.
WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
