POSITION SUMMARY
The Teacher – CTE, FPOS Health Informatics designs, develops, and delivers high quality instruction aligned with the teaching assignment within the Health Informatics Program of Study. The role reports to the designated adminstrator on the teacher’s assigned campus. This position guides the learning process towards the achievement of CTE curriculum goals, including, but not limited to, designing, developing, and delivering instruction, student recruitment, business and industry partner recruitment, facilitating work-based learning and career exploration opportunities, managing Career and Technical Student Organizations, supporting CTE events during the school day, on evenings, and weekends as directed, and attending mandatory CTE professional development, both during the school year and through the summer.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES
1. Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students, preparing for assigned classes and demonstrating written evidence of preparation upon request, as well as guiding the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and assessments, clearly communicating expectations with students, families, and staff.
2. Implement all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, including, but not limited to, developing and communicating clear, reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintaining classroom order in a fair and just manner.
3. Facilitate extra-instructional initiatives essential to CTE Program of Study implementation, including, but not limited to, student recruitment, business and industry partner recruitment, supporting CTE events during the school day, evenings, and on the weekends, and responding to student, family, and stakeholder requests.

4. Expand and improve professional competence, including, but not limited to, participating in professional development (mandatory during the school year and in the summer), attending meetings, maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, establishing and sustaining communication with students, parents, and community members
5. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law,district policy, and adminisrative regulations.
6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.
