JOB SUMMARY
Multilingual Education analyst serves as supplemental support for campuses overseeing all compliance and documentation procedures for all Multilingual programs. Analysts ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specific objectives. Analyst provides supplemental support and collaborates with personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of programs.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist schools with monitoring the implementation of the applicable program model to increase the level of student achievement.
- Assist campuses with parent engagement activities for Emergent Bilingual learners.
- Assist schools with monitoring the implementation of the applicable program model to increase the level of student achievement.
- Supports LPACs and campuses with initial identification of Emergent Bilingual students
- Other duties as assigned

WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field
SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze complex data sets.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies, such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and data modeling.
- Experience with database querying languages (e.g., SQL) and data manipulation tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex data and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas.
- Knowledge of data governance and data management best practices.
- Familiarity with data visualization best practices and the ability to create visually compelling and informative reports.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a curious mindset and a passion for uncovering insights from data.
- Experience in the education sector or related fields is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive data with discretion.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.
BUDGET AUTHORITY
No budget development activity is required.
PROBLEM SOLVING
Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude, but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.
IMPACT OF DECISIONS
Follows rules and procedures. Decisions can have minimal or no impact to HISD. Errors can be readily detected, usually by the employee, and, if made, would result in minor expense for correction.
COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS
Information sharing - gives and receives information such as options, technical direction, instructions and reporting results. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor and coworkers in own and other departments.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
Follows through with customer inquiries, requests and complaints. Forwards difficult and non-routine inquiries or requests to appropriate level for resolution.
WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
