JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator of Educational Diagnosticians supports the Director by guiding evaluation practice. ensuring compliance. and assisting Educational Diagnosticians across the district. This role also facilitates professional development. reviews evaluation quality. and conducts evaluations when needed.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in the supervision and support of educational diagnosticians across the district.
2. Monitor compliance with IDEA, TEA regulations, and HISD policies related to special education evaluations.
3. Review evaluation reports and documentation to ensure quality and consistency.

4. Support the Director in planning and delivering professional development and training for assessment staff.
5. Serve as an evaluator when needed, conducting assessments and participating in ARD/IEP meetings.
6. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Master degree.
The Coordinator of Educational Diagnosticians must remain current with best practices, legal updates, assessment tools, and instructional strategies to effectively support students and staff across the district.
WORK EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years
New employees should have experience as a certified educational diagnostician, leadership in special education, and strong knowledge of assessment practices and compliance procedures.
SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
Microsoft Office skills.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to
monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work lime is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.
